‘Thor’ star Tom Hiddleston to appear in ‘The Muppets’ sequel

'The Muppets... Again!' stars Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey and Ty Burrell and is due out in March 2014

Thor‘s Tom Hiddleston will reportedly make an appearance in the new Muppets movie starring Ricky Gervais.

Hiddleston, best known for playing Loki in Thor and The Avengers, will appear as a character called The Great Escapo who sounds suspiciously like a magician, according to a new entry on his online CV spotted by the MuppetsHenson website.

The film, a sequel to 2011’s The Muppets, began shooting earlier this year (2013) and now has an official title: The Muppets… Again!. The plot takes the furry performers on a European tour and involves Kermit running into his doppelgänger, Constantine, who turns out to be world’s number one criminal.

Gervais plays Constantine’s sidekick, Number Two, while Tina Fey co-stars as a feisty prison guard and Modern Family‘s Ty Burrell appears as an Interpol agent. Confirmed guest stars include Christoph Waltz, Ray Liotta, Peter Serafinowicz and Dexter Fletcher.

The Muppets… Again! is being directed by James Bobin, who also helmed 2011’s The Muppets, the first big screen outing for Kermit and the gang in 12 years. Bobin’s first film featured music from Bret McKenzie, who went on to win an Oscar for his original song ‘Man Or Muppet’ and is now writing songs for the sequel. The Muppets… Again! is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on March 21, 2014.
