Tina Fey on hosting next year’s Oscars: ‘No way!’

She teamed up with Amy Poehler to host this year's Golden Globes but says the Oscars is 'so hard'

Tina Fey has insisted there is “no way” she would host next year’s Oscars.

This year’s ceremony, which took place in LA on Sunday night (February 24), was hosted by Ted director Seth MacFarlane, who earned mixed reviews for his performance. He made a number of questionable jokes during the course of the evening, including one about Rihanna‘s relationship with Chris Brown, and performed a song called ‘We Saw Your Boobs’ about various actresses in the audience.

MacFarlane has since revealed he has no intention of ever hosting the ceremony again, telling a fan on Twitter: “No way. Lotta have fun to have done it, though.”

Earlier in this year’s Hollywood awards season, Fey had teamed up with fellow TV star Amy Poehler to host the Golden Globes. Their joint effort won rave reviews and featured some memorable zingers aimed at Taylor Swift and Ricky Gervais.

When asked if she and Poehler could reunite to host next year’s Oscars, Fey told The Huffington Post: “I just feel like that gig is so hard. Especially for, like, a woman – the amount of months that would be spent trying on dresses alone… no way.”

Asked if there was even a tiny chance she might consider the gig, Fey refused to budge, saying: “I wish I could tell you there was.”
