Tom Hanks shares behind the scenes footage as he finishes filming ‘Toy Story 4’

"We rode like the wind, to infinity and beyond"

Tom Hanks has shared a backstage screenshot from Toy Story 4 after he wrapped up filming as the character Sheriff Woody.

The Hollywood star took to Twitter to share a picture of himself and the rest of the cast huddled around a microphone with the message: “Final line, final session as Woody of Toy Story 4. We rode like the wind, to infinity and beyond.” You can view the tweet below.

Earlier, this week a new teaser trailer featuring the character Bo Peep was also shared online.

The Annie Potts-voiced character was noticeably absent from the last film, Toy Story 3 (2010), but makes a welcome return to the movie franchise for its final instalment this June.

“Bo’s taken control of her own destiny,” Toy Story 4 director Josh Cooley said. “While Woody was watching Andy grow up, Bo gathered dust until she took it upon herself to head out into the world. And when Woody shows up, they can’t believe that they’ve found each other again.”

Forky was unveiled as a new character in the first trailer clip which was released in November 2018. The next day, Pixar shared another clip which introduced two other new faces: Ducky and Bunny.

Meanwhile, Tom Hanks recently also revealed how emotional his Woody vocal takes were in the final weeks of recording.

Toy Story 4 is released in UK cinemas on June 21.
