This sounds pretty ace...
The film director who has been heavily linked with a big screen take on Call of Duty has admitted that he’d love to cast Tom Hardy in the video game adaptation.
Stefano Sollima, the director of forthcoming Sicario 2, admitted that Hardy and Star Trek hero Chris Pine were among his top choices to head up the anticipated actioner.
“I mean, I like almost everything [Hardy has been in],” he told Metro.
“I’m waiting for his Venom. Even in Mad Max, he was great.”
Describing his admiration of Pine, he said: “He’s tough, but he’s smart and he can have a sense of humour. But he can [also] be in such a dramatic role.
“I like when you feel that an actor can play with different nuances and tone, because this means they’re a good actor.”
Although Hardy or Sollima’s involvement are far from confirmed, Hardy’s latest foray into huge franchises will come in the form of Venom – which is released later this year.
In the first trailer, Hardy is seen playing Eddie Brock, a freelance photographer who becomes infected by an alien lifeform and turns into a half-human, half-alien villain – with Spider-Man positioned as his arch nemesis.
