The actor will play the gangster in the upcoming film 'Fonzo'
The first image of Tom Hardy as Al Capone has been shared.
The actor will play the American gangster and businessman, also known as Scarface, in an upcoming film called Fonzo.
Hardy previously teased his transformation into Capone on his Instagram page, posting a photo of himself in a red gown and pyjama top, with grey and white hair and a weathered face. Now, in the first official image of him in character, his face is wrinkled as he sits with a cigar in his mouth and a menacing look in his eyes.
Fonzo will chart the last year of Capone’s life, meeting him aged 47 when he was suffering from dementia following his time in Alcatraz. Linda Cardellini will play Mae Capone, while Matt Dillon, Kyle MacLachlan and Noel Fisher will also star in the film.
At present, there is no release date confirmed for the movie, which will be scored by Run The Jewels‘ El-P.
Meanwhile, Hardy is also set to star in Venom, the new Spider-Man spin-off from Marvel. A new trailer for the film was released earlier this week (July 31), which sees the actor struggling with his transformation into a terrifying creature.
Riz Ahmed and Michelle Williams star alongside Hardy in the movie, which is set for release on October 5, 2018.
