Tom Holland shares first photo from ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ set

Filming for the Spider-Man reboot is currently underway

Tom Holland has shared a photo of himself in costume on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Holland took the selfie while hanging from a platform in his Spider-Man gear to celebrate the start of the one year countdown till the film’s release.

Holland made his debut as the character who is perhaps Marvel’s most recognisable hero in Captain America: Civil War, which has now officially made more than $1 billion at the global box office.

Homecoming is a joint production between Sony and Marvel Studios, the third cinematic iteration of Peter Parker/Spider-man, but the first to tie into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marisa Tomei, Robert Downey Jr and Zendaya are also on board, and John Watts will direct, with filming thought to begin next month.

Last month, Hannibal Buress has been confirmed to have joined the cast of Homecoming.

The comedian, who played dentist Lincoln in US comedy series Broad City, will appear in the Sony and Marvel production alongside the likes of Tom Holland and Donald Glover. What exactly Buress’ role will be has yet to be disclosed.
