‘Twins’ sequel ‘Triplets’ in development with Eddie Murphy

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny Devito are both set to return for follow-up

A sequel to Twins is in development, named Triplets.

Universal Pictures is planning to reunite Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito for a sequel to the 1988 comedy, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The film saw the pair play Julius and Vincent, fraternal twins who were conceived experimentally and separated at birth. But in a twist for the new film, they will discover that they have a third brother, played by Eddie Murphy.

All three actors are believed to be on board, and Ivan and Jason Reitman’s production company Montecito. However, Ivan Reitman will not return as director, instead acting as producer.

Schwarzenegger last year announced his intention to return to acting last year after finishing his term as Governor Of California, but plans were put on hold when his marital problems went public. DeVito meanwhile has been starring in cult US sitcom It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia.

Murphy dropped out of hosting last month’s Oscars after Brett Ratner pulled out of producing the show after making an apparent homophobic slur.
