Video shows ‘everything wrong with ‘Les Misérables’ in six minutes’ – watch

This includes plot holes, continuity errors and a medley of bum notes from Russell Crowe

A video has appeared on YouTube claiming to show “everything wrong with Les Misérables in six minutes or less”. Scroll down and click ‘play’ to watch it.

According to CinemaSins, the makers of the video, Les Misérables commits 62 “movie sins” ranging from plot holes to continuity errors to stretching out its running time. “Oscar in hand, Anne Hathaway exits,” the video notes drily, “and doesn’t appear again until the end of the film four hours later.”

However, the number of “movie sins” rises rapidly when the video decides to count all the bum notes from a cast that also includes Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Sacha Baron Cohen, Helena Bonham Carter and Amanda Seyfried.

Directed by Tom Hopper, Les Misérables premiered last December and has gone on to become a major box office hit, taking over $435 million (£283 million) at cinemas worldwide. The film was nominated for eight awards at this year’s Oscars and won three, including one for Hathaway’s performance as ailing prostitute Fantine.

Since joining YouTube last December, CinemaSins has already exposed the “movie sins” in numerous other blockbusters, including The Dark Knight Rises, The Avengers, The Hobbit, The Avengers and Django Unchained.
