Car chase sequel will drive into cinemas on July 11 next year (2014)
Vin Diesel has shared the first picture from the set of Fast & Furious 7. See above.
The actor posted the photo, which features him and regular Fast & Furious co-star Paul Walker, on his Facebook page yesterday (September 15) accompanied by a somewhat cryptic caption: “The unknown road ahead… P.s. One from the set.”
Alongside Diesel and Walker, fellow F&F favourites Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster and Ludacris are all back for the seventh film, while Jason Statham has signed up to play the main villain after making a cameo at the end of this year’s Fast & Furious 6. Meanwhile, it has recently been reported that veteran action star Kurt Russell is eyeing up a role in the film.
James Wan (Saw, Insidious) has come on board as director and shooting got underway earlier this month (September) with Abu Dhabi and Atlanta confirmed as locations. The film will open in UK and US cinemas on July 11, 2014.
Since its release this May, Fast & Furious 6 has taken a massive $785 million (£500 million) at cinemas worldwide, making it the most successful film in the franchise yet. The six F&F films to date have raked in a collective $2.3 billion (£1.5 billion) at the global box office since the series began in 2001.
