A new trailer for Ordinary World, which stars Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong in his first major film role, has been released – which you can view exclusively on NME.com below.
Described as “a candid and heart-warming comedy”, Armstrong stars as former punk rocker Perry, who is struggling to adapt to real life ten years into his band’s “indefinite hiatus”.
After his 40th birthday is forgotten by his wife Karen (played by Selma Blair) and his daughter, Perry’s brother takes pity on him and helps fund a wild party at a lavish New York City hotel. It is at the party where Perry’s past meets his grown-up present, encountering his old bandmate Gary (played by Fred Armisen) and an old-flame-turned-manager (played by Judy Greer).

Ordinary World also features four new original songs written by Armstrong, including the title track, which will also sit on the tracklisting of Green Day’s upcoming twelfth studio album, ‘Revolution Radio’.
The film was premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival back in April, where it received acclaim. It will be released on DVD and as a digital download on October 17. Pre-order here.
