The latest trailer sheds more light on the origins of Chris Hemsworth’s titular character
Universal Pictures have released a new trailer for The Huntsman: Winter’s War.
The follow-up to 2012’s Snow White and the Huntsman takes place both before and after the events of the first film. The forthcoming sequel will tell the origin story of Chris Hemsworth’s Huntsman, who was raised to be a warrior in the army of Queen Ravenna’s sister Freya, played by Emily Blunt. The Huntsman invokes the ire of Freya and her resurrected sister after deserting his post and striking up a relationship with fellow warrior Sara (Jessica Chasten).
The newly-released trailer reveals more of the Huntsman’s backstory as well as giving viewers a glimpse of the final confrontation between Chris Hemsworth’s character and Charlize Theron’s Queen Ravenna.
Cedric Nicolas-Troyan, responsible for the visual effects on The Ring and Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, is directing the upcoming film. Nick Frost, Sam Claflin, and Rob Brydon also star.
The Huntsman: Winter’s War opens in theaters on April 22nd.
