The trailer for Her Smell, a movie about a fictional riot grrrl band, has been released.
The film stars Elizabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale) as Becky Something, the self-destructive lead singer and guitarist of an early ’90s band called Something She. She’s joined by bandmates Gayle Rankin (GLOW) and Agyness Deyn (Clash of the Titans).
Cara Delevingne (Suicide Squad) plays Crassie Cassie, who plays in a younger band that Becky Something fears will take her place in the industry.
Her Smell depicts the rise and fall of Moss’ fictional rock star who battles addictions and personal issues.
Alex Ross Perry directs the film, which premieres in the UK at the Glasgow Film Festival this Sunday (February 24). Her Smell marks the third occasion that Perry and Moss have worked together after 2014’s Listen Up Philip and 2015’s Queen of Earth.
Meanwhile, Moss will reprise her role as Offred/June in the third series of The Handmaid’s Tale, the dystopian TV show based on Margaret Atwood’s 1985 novel of the same name, which is expected to air this spring.
Last year, Moss won the Best Actress in a Television Series, Drama award at the Golden Globes.
