Corden will be joined by Jennifer Lopez in a primetime 'Carpool Karaoke' special tonight (March 29)
James Corden has put his own stamp on Macklemore‘s ‘Downtown’ in a trailer for his Carpool Karaoke primetime special.
In a parody of the 2015 hit, titled ‘Primetime’, Corden raps: “Went to my network bosses and said, ‘Screw it’ / Boss is like, ‘How about a special, you want to do it?’ / Primetime, 10 to 11 / Mainstream, like a slice of heaven / Big shot, going to work like crazy / Sampling my skills like Jay Z”. Clips of Corden driving around Los Angeles with musicians as they sing and chat together have proven hugely popular since the British actor took over as host of The Late Late Show last year.
Capitalising on their success, The Late Late Show Carpool Karaoke Primetime Special will air on US network CBS tonight (March 29). Jennifer Lopez will be joining Corden for a brand new Carpool Karaoke segment, while highlights from previous Carpool Karaokes featuring Adele, Sia and One Direction are all set to feature.
Corden recently revealed his wish list for future Carpool Karaokes, saying he would love to be joined by Prince and Sam Smith, among others.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Corden and his producer Ben Winston are in discussions to make a standalone Carpool Karaoke series, which would be hosted by another presenter with occasional appearances from Corden.
