The comic actor passed away in August 2014

Robin Williams’ daughter has discussed how she has attempted to cope with her father’s passing, speaking in a new interview. Scroll below to watch.

Zelda Williams, an actress and director, recently spoke on Chelsea Handler’s Netflix show, saying: “I just kept going, ‘OK, well, today I’m going to get up and love what I do. And then tomorrow I’m going to wake up and be happy and love what I do. And then the next day,’ because that’s all you can do.”

The actress, who currently stars in new US horror series Dead of Summer, went on to explain how the way people behaviour to her changed after the comic’s death.

“It was very funny because, for a while, no one would let me do anything,” she said. “I think there’s that reaction of like, ‘Oh, shit, are you OK?’ And then even if you are OK, they’re like, ‘Well, what’s wrong?’ For a while, I was just kind of left to my own devices.”

“But then also you’re like, ‘Is there something wrong with me?’ And also, I didn’t see daylight for awhile. So now I’m doing a lot more of that,” she laughed.

She recently revealed that she hasn’t been able to watch her father’s movies again yet. “I think once I reach a place where I’m more comfortable, I’ll happily watch again,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “Right now, I think that would be a bit self-destructive, in a sense. It’s been nice to kind of work on myself and my family and the people who are here.”

Robin Williams died on August 11, 2014 following a battle with severe depression. He was 63 years old.
