Marvel's latest teaser was shown to a huge US TV audience during yesterday's Super Bowl 50
Marvel has released a new teaser for this year’s Captain America: Civil War.
The promo clip was shown to a huge US TV audience during yesterday’s Super Bowl 50 broadcast on CBS, but Marvel actually uploaded it to YouTube shortly beforehand. Watch below.
Chris Evans is joined in Civil War by a massive cast of Marvel favourites including Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man, Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man, Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye, Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany’s The Vision and Don Cheadle’s War Machine. Captain America regulars including Sebastian Stan’s Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie’s Falcon, Frank Grillo’s Crossbones and Emily VanCamp’s Sharon Carter all appear too.
Meanwhile, the new Spider-Man played by British actor Tom Holland is confirmed to be making his debut in Captain America: Civil War, which is set for release on May 6, 2016. Daniel Brühl will play supervillain Baron Zemo, William Hurt is reprising his role as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross from 2008’s The Incredible Hulk and Sherlock‘s Martin Freeman has been cast in a currently unspecified role.
Marvel’s plot synopsis for the film teases: “Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity.
“After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.”
