It was recently reported that the film was getting 'major reshoots' to add more jokes
Warner Bros. have shared a pair of new Suicide Squad teasers which show the movie’s humorous side. Scroll down to watch them.
In April it was reported that the super-villain ensemble movie was getting major reshoots to add more jokes following the unexpected success of Deadpool, whose black humour proved incredibly popular with cinema-goers.
However, the film’s director David Ayer later described the rumours as “silly” on Twitter and seemed to suggest that there will instead be “more action” added to his film. See his tweet below.
Suicide Squad – scheduled for release in August – features a rogue’s gallery of some iconic DC villains played by major Hollywood actors, including Jared Leto as the Joker, Will Smith as Deadshot, and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn.
Leto recently revealed that he spent time scaring passers-by in New York and Toronto in order to perfect the Joker’s laugh. He also reportedly had a dead pig and a black rat delivered to his castmates, and admitted to arranging meetings with convicted psychopaths and “people who had committed horrendous crimes”, as well as the doctors and psychiatrists who treated them.
A recent trailer has confirmed long-running rumours that Ben Affleck will also appear in the movie as Batman.
