DC Entertainment president and producer Geoff Johns has released a mysterious but telling clue into the plot of Wonder Woman 2.

Reports have suggested that the film will be set in the 1980s and possess a Cold War narrative with Kristen Wiig playing the villain Cheetah. However this reveal confirms specifically what year the film will be set in.

The Facebook post sees a black background with ‘WW84’ typed across in a flickering, distorted font. Check out the Wonder Woman clue below.

Meanwhile, director Patty Jenkins has teased new details about the storyline of Wonder Woman 2.

In an interview with Variety‘s Playback podcast, Jenkins said the second film will feature another “great love story”.

“I did very much thematically want to get to love – because that’s what she stands for – and the complexity of what we’re facing,” she said of the first film. “These were big themes, like [Wonder Woman] stands for love and truth, which is particularly important right now.”

Gal Gadot confirmed last year that Brett Ratner won’t be involved with the upcoming Wonder Woman sequel.

Multiple women have made sexual misconduct and harassment allegations against Ratner, whose RatPace-Dune Entertainment company had a co-financing deal with Warner Bros.

In fact, The Producer’s Guild of America (PGA) has published new anti-sexual harassment guidelines, with Wonder Woman 2 set to be the first film to adopt them.

Wonder Woman 2 is set to hit cinemas on November 1, 2019.
