Robin Wright takes centre stage in first trailer for final season of ‘House of Cards’

"We're just getting started"

The first teaser trailer for the final season of House of Cards has been released, and it sees Robin Wright taking centre stage after the departure of shamed star Kevin Spacey.

Last year, it was confirmed that production on the show’s sixth and final season would go ahead without Spacey, after the Oscar winning star was accused of historic sexual misconduct.

Now, the first trailer has been released, and it sees a tracking shot travelling through the busy annals of the White House before eventually stopping in the Oval Office, where Claire Underwood is now the President of the United States.

“We’re just getting started”, she remarks in the clip.

Spacey, meanwhile, has been the subject of multiple accusations of sexual misconduct, assault and harassment, including allegations made by crew on the Netflix show. Following the claims, Spacey issued a statement, saying that he was “taking the time necessary to seek evaluation and treatment”.

It has also been reported that there could be several House Of Cards spin-offs following the show’s final season.

The show’s Doug Stamper character is reportedly at the centre of one such potential spinoff.
Stamper, played by Michael Kelly,  is a political aide-de-camp to Spacey’s President Frank Underwood, played by Michael Kelly. Eric Roth – chief writer for House Of Cards’ first four seasons – has been attached to the project.
