Is ‘Escape From Tarkov’ down?

Servers for 'Escape From Tarkov' are currently down

Realistic shooter Escape From Tarkov is currently experiencing server issues. Players are currently unable to extract from raids, although it’s unsure if this means players will extract with their items or not at this time.

Escape From Tarkov Server Issues

Several players – including one slightly irritable NME staffer – have experienced the bug, but all are stuck with a prompt on the menu telling them they are still in raid, meaning players are currently unable to access their stash or equip their character. It’s unsure if items will be given back to players who have extracted before being afflicted with the bug, but it’s a safe bet that if you select exit raid, you’ll lose your items, so be aware.

It seems the problem is widespread, community status monitor TarkovServerStatus reports issues across the authentication server, inventory and game servers, meaning the game is – in technical terms – proper broke.

It’s unsure what causes this in technical terms but it seems like it could be a result of the servers getting hammered. Generally, developer Battlestate Games moves quickly on fixing problems so it’s expected that the issue will resolve within an hour or two.

For anyone that can get in, Escape From Tarkov‘s 0.13 patch adds the Streets of Tarkov map, grenade launchers, a score of other weapons and even new combat stims. You can also repair your armour to give it new bonus characteristics.

NME will report on any fix as soon as one is announced. In the meantime, try not to click the exit button on the main menu, just in case you lose a full wedge of gear or, like this staffer, three completed quests.
