“Suicide Squad is a unique new franchise for gaming”

Rocksteady Studios has dropped the first details for its upcoming DC video game, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League.

During a panel at DC FanDome, the developer released a new trailer and delved into what its latest title is about. The game is set to be a next-gen title and will launch on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X in 2022.

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is a continuation of the critically-acclaimed Arkham series and takes place in an open-world Metropolis. Players can explore the world solo and swap between various characters, or take to the city co-operatively as a team of four.

Rocksteady Games creative director, Sefton Hill, outlined more details about the game during the panel. Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League will have a focus on both melee and gun-based combat and described the game as a “unique new franchise for gaming and we’ve been able to put our own spin on it and create something special”.

Being a part of the Arkham universe, Hill stated that many plot threads from past games in the series will continue in Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League. Despite having a multiplayer focus, Hill also added that the title will remain faithful to the franchise and remain character focused and promised the game will have a “real heart and soul inside it”.
