‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ director James Gunn offers $100,000 for Trump to get on the scales

#Girther is now trending on Twitter

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn has offered $100,000 to Trump’s favourite charity – if the president agrees to step on the scales.

The bizarre request follows the White House doctor Ronny Jackson claiming that Trump is 6’3 and weighs 239 pounds – which is one pound less than a weight that would be classed as obese.

Referring to Trump’s involvement in the ‘birther’ conspiracy, which questioned whether Barack Obama was born in the US, Gunn – along with other anti-Trump tweeters – created the hashtag #Girther to investigate the claims.

Gunn tweeted: “I will give 100 thousand dollars to Trump’s favorite charity if he will step on an accurate scale with an impartial medical professional, okayed by both of us. For real. #Girther #GirtherMovement

When one user asked what charity Trump would choose, Gunn said: “I would be afraid that it’s the Ku Klux Klan but there’s no way in hell he’s 239 pounds, so I don’t have to worry about it.”

The charity donation on the table mirrors Trump’s $5 million offer to Obama in 2012 in return for his college transcripts.

When some users questioned whether the hashtag was fat shaming the president, Gunn responded: “This has nothing to do with fat shaming. It has to do with a continuous pattern of fabricating facts by both Trump and his administration.”

Meanwhile, Gunn has confirmed that a third instalment of Guardians Of The Galaxy is on the way – revealing that the film is ‘Coming in 2020’. The Guardians will return later this year for Avengers: Infinity War, which is expected to hit cinemas in April.
