Gwyneth Paltrow planning to release country album

Actress in discussions with Atlantic Records

Gwyneth Paltrow could be set to sign a record deal and release a country album.

The Seven and Shakespeare In Love star’s current role in Country Song sees her play a country musician fresh out of rehab. Now she is reportedly in advanced talks to make a country record with Atlantic Records.

A source told the New York Post: “Gwyneth‘s agents have been talking to a number of labels about her landing a substantial record deal.”

The source added: “Those who have heard the music say it’s country-pop. Many labels would be reluctant to give deal to a star whose first priority is film, but in recent weeks there have been discussions with Atlantic. Gwyneth is a very different name for Atlantic, and one who brings a lot of recognition.”
