Here’s the first photo from new Star Wars TV show ‘The Mandalorian’

The force is coming to a TV screen near you..

The first photo of a new Star Wars TV series have been revealed, after it was confirmed that the sci-fi giant is making its way to the small screen.

As Disney prepares to launch its own streaming service, it’s been confirmed that Jon Favreau will create The Mandalorian –  named after bounty hunter Boba Fett’s race from the planet Mandalore.

However, it won’t focus on Fett – it’ll instead tell the tale of a gunfighter, set in the three decades between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.

Now, we’ve received our first look at the lead fighter – and he’s not a million miles away from Boba Fett.

Posting the photo on Instagram, Jon Favreau shared a photo of the character as he walked through a market area that appears similar to the dusty plains of Tatooine.

Yesterday, Favreau also shared an official synopsis that gives fans a cryptic idea of what to expect.

“After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe”, the synopsis states.

“The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.”

It’s also claimed that the show could see Disney forking out $100 million – making it one of the most expensive TV productions of all time.

Meanwhile, it was recently claimed that Russian bots attempted to sabotage Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

According to researcher Morten Bay, the negativity may have been part of an effort by Russian bots to create division in America by targeting popular culture.

He claims that 50.9% percent of negative responses received on Twitter came from non-automated accounts, while only 21.9% was from actual humans.
