Hot Chip preview new music in sinister ‘Hungry Child’ teaser

"Oh God, it's following us!"

Hot Chip have teased the release of new music titled ‘Hungry Child’ – check out the video below.

The Alexis Taylor-fronted electronic outfit announced their live return last month, with a UK tour kicking off in Glasgow tomorrow night (April 1). Dates are also scheduled for Manchester, London, Brighton, and Bristol.

Now, with festival appearances planned across summer, Hot Chip have teased their upcoming new material – promising that a project called ‘Hungry Child’ is “coming soon”. The title is likely to be for their comeback single and/or album.

The 26-second teaser clip features close-up shots of various characters as we hear a synth-heavy snippet of ‘Hungry Child’. “What is this song?” one voice asks. Sounding concerned, another adds: “Oh God, it’s following us!” As things take a more sinister turn, we hear a primal growl and a woman exclaim: “What the hell?!”

At the end of the clip, we see the ‘Hungry Child’ title followed by “Coming soon”.

Hot Chip released their latest studio LP ‘Why Make Sense?’ in 2015. ‘Beautiful Thing’ – Alexis Taylor’s fourth solo effort – arrived in April of last year following Joe Goddard’s 2017 album, ‘Electric Lines‘.

Following their own headline tour, Hot Chip will perform in London’s Victoria Park as part of this year’s All Points East. Joining them at the east London three-dayer will be The Strokes, The Chemical Brothers, Christine and the Queens, Interpol and more.
