Nick Frost has shot down rumours that the sequel to Hot Fuzz is in the works.
The actor caused a stir among fans of the cult comedy from the ‘Cornetto Trilogy’ this week when he took to Instagram to share a photo of himself with co-star Simon Pegg and writer/director Edgar Wright.
The image of the friends at lunch was captioned by Frost with the message: “A trio of fine British Helms… #hotfuzztwogreenlit.”
However, after a huge reaction from fans, Frost then updated the caption with “some confusion… the Hashtag should’ve read… #hotfuzztwonotgreenlitwerejusthavinglunchtogether”
He then further teased fans with another image, joking about a sequel to Shaun Of The Dead.
“When you been fucking with people’s minds about HF2!!!” he wrote. “Peace!!!#Fromdusktillshaunisgo!!!”
In a conversation Simon Pegg had with NME, the actor said of people repeatedly asking if hit series Spaced will ever come back: “That question will never go away. The more they ask, the less likely it is.”
He added that “it couldn’t possibly ever exist again” because it was about “a group of twenty-somethings at the turn of the century.” When it was suggested they could get around that by doing a reunion series, he replied: “Why? There’s no point.”
