BBC con drama's next series will be last "with the current gang'
BBC con drama Hustle is likely end in its current form after the next series, its creator has revealed.
An eighth run of the hit BBC One series has just been commissioned, but now writer Tony Jordan has said that the next run would be the last.
Jordan told Broadcast Magazine: “Do you allow the show to fade away or… quite while you’re ahead? You want to go out like James Dean in a fast car.”
The BBC has since confirmed that the next series of Hustle will be the last “with the current gang,” although it added that it was “in discussions” about the programme’s “continued life”.
Hustle, which follows the exploits of a sophisticated gang of con-artists, stars Adrian Lester and Robert Vaughn.
