Idris Elba and Daniel Craig tease Bond rumours with Golden Globes selfie

"The bond-ing moment."

Idris Elba and Daniel Craig have jokingly attempted to fan the flames of James Bond by taking a selfie together.

The Luther star has long been touted as the man to follow in Craig’s footsteps as the iconic spy – and it seems like he’s doing little to stop the rumours.

As the pair attended the Golden Globes together, they shared a lighthearted selfie that sees Craig looking suspiciously at Elba, who himself appears to look rather awkward.

“Awks”, Elba captioned the photo on his Instagram photo. The photo was also shared by Elba’s fiancee Sabrina Dhowre, who wrote: “Not to add to the fire but….play nice guys.”

One fan responded: “@idriselba for James Bond all the way pls.”

Another said: “The bond-ing moment.”

The funny display from the pair comes after Idris previously had fun with the frequent rumours last year. The actor shared a heavily edited photo of himself alongside the caption “My name’s Elba… Idris Elba”, a play on James Bond’s iconic catchphrase “The name’s Bond… James Bond.”

The rumours surrounding Elba’s casting as James Bond also ramped into overdrive after it was reported  that producer Barbara Broccoli had previously admitted “it is time” for a non-white actor to take over the role of Bond, adding that it “will happen eventually.”

However, the conversation was later denied by representatives for the Bond boss.
