‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ cast to knock on doors in support of California Democrat

The Gang Drums Up Support For The Democrats Ahead Of The Mid-Terms

Members of the cast of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia are set to help canvass support this weekend for a Democratic candidate for Congress ahead of next week’s hugely important mid-term elections in the US.

The elections, which will take place on Tuesday (November 6), are set to have a significant impact on the political map of the US in deciding the make up of both the US Senate and the House of Representatives. If the Democrats enjoy plenty of gains on Tuesday, then President Donald Trump‘s divisive administration could be limited in what it’s able to do for the remaining two years of his presidency.

Numerous celebrities and high-profile names have been urging Americans to get out and vote next week, with the Always Sunny cast set to go the extra step this weekend by knocking on doors in an effort to drum up support for Democrat Katie Hill, who is running for Congress in California’s 25th District.

According to polls, Hill has a 63% chance of defeating the incumbent Rep. Steve Knight (R) in what is expected to be a tightly-contested contest.

It’s unclear yet which members of the cast will actually canvass, but a Mobilize America event listing claims that a number of the Always Sunny stars will turn up in Simi Valley, California tomorrow (November 3).

“Join cast members of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and our grassroots supporters in Simi Valley to kick off our 12pm canvass on Saturday, November 3!” the listing states. “We’ll start with a quick training before heading out into the community to knock on doors and spread the word about Katie and the November 6th general election.”

Back in September, Always Sunny creator and star Rob McElhenney shed light on the brutal regime he put his body through in order to get Mac “the perfect physique” for the show’s thirteenth season.
