The Late Show host James Corden has been everywhere this year, and it’s driving some people mad.
From his five-nights-a-week spot on the US chat show, to TV adverts across the UK, and even a heavily-rumoured (and subsequently denied) guest spot in the new Star Wars movie, Corden has been unavoidable in 2018. After turning up in the new trailer for Ocean’s 8, the former Gavin & Stacey star’s ubiquity has sent a number of Twitter users into a frenzy.
“James Corden, showing up in all the films and ruining it for everyone. When did America elect him to be the new Jar Jar Binks?” wrote one irked Twitter user, before pointing to Corden’s heavily-criticised kissing of former Donald Trump associate Sean Spicer.
Another critic wrote: “At the rate he’s appearing, I’m expecting James Corden to be in this new box of Cornflakes I’m about to open.”
However, some were quick to jump to Corden’s defence. “How about we like, you know, be pleased for James Corden…?” wrote one Twitter user, while another said: “James Corden is one of my favorite people and i’m seeing tweets shitting on him like wHAT, please? He’s a fucking gem and if anyone wants to disagree you can get off my tweet”.

Have we reached peak James Corden?
Back in October, Corden came under fire for a series of controversial jokes he made in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal.
He began: “It’s been weird this week watching Harvey Weinstein in hot water. Ask any of the women who watched him take a bath, it’s weird.”
Corden’s first joke was met with audile groans which he countered with: “I don’t know if whether that groan was because you liked that joke or don’t like that joke. If you don’t like that joke, you should probably leave now.”
