Milk star James Franco and Alice In Wonderland‘s Anne Hathaway will be hosting next year’s Academy Awards ceremony.
Last year’s event was hosted by comedians Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin, but it’s been reported that the awards chiefs were looking to go ‘younger’ this time round.
Oscar producers Bruce Cohen and Don Mischer told Oscar.go.com: “James Franco and Anne Hathaway personify the next generation of Hollywood icon – fresh, exciting and multi-talented.”
They added: “We hope to create an Oscars broadcast that will both showcase their incredible talents and entertain the world on February 27. We are completely thrilled that James and Anne will be joining forces with our brilliant creative team to do just that.”
This year will mark Hathaway’s fifth appearance at the Oscars and the second time around for Franco.
