Kanye West remakes ‘Ultralight Beam’, producing Easter version ‘Ultralight Prayer’ – listen

The Life Of Pablo track now has a shortened, religious incarnation

Kanye West has tweaked ‘The Life Of Pablo’ track ‘Ultralight Beam’ to produce a saintly-feel Easter version entitled ‘Ultralight Prayer’.

Taking advantage of the gospel elements that exist on the original album-opener, West has tweaked the lyrics of the two-minute version to include the lines “Let them know that’s why you took the nail; so we could have eternal life,” and “you will forgive all of our wrongs and make us new again.”

“I’m searching for you, I’m looking for you,” West says against the gospel background of the track posted to Soundcloud late on Easter Sunday (March 27).

West was still adapting the album version of his latest, digital-only release ‘The Life Of Pablo’ earlier this month, and is widely expected to announce an accompanying tour very shortly.

On March 16, the rapper announced that he had “fixed” three tracks. Album cut ‘Famous’ now includes a Nina Simone vocal line layered underneath the track’s Sister Nancy ‘Bam Bam’ sample (the track was reportedly called ‘Nina Chop’ in Kanye’s handwritten notes).

Another album cut, ‘Wolves’, now features more prominent contributions from Vic Mensa and Sia, while finally, Frank Ocean debuts on brand new song ‘Frank’s Track’, described as a 38-second extension of ‘Wolves’ and containing his part from the original now contained in a stand alone track.

Tidal have extended their free 30-day sign up period to enable fans to listen to the album.
