'Kick-Ass 2: Balls To The Wall' on the way, says creator
The creator of the Kick-Ass comic has confirmed that a sequel will begin filming in 2011.
Mark Millar – who is currently penning a sequel to his Kick-Ass comic, about an ordinary boy who decides he’s a crime-fighting superhero – told CLiNT, a new comic anthology he is launching, that he is readying his “his sequel to the hit Kick-Ass movie in the first issue of the comic. Kick-Ass 2: Balls To The Wall has been scheduled for production in 2011 for a 2012 cinema release”.
Millar had previously discussed plans for a proposed sequel last month: “The second one, the sequel, is what if people tried to be bad guys as a reaction to the superheroes. And it’s just that simple.
“It’s just the idea of – the same way these guys were contacting each other on Facebook and everything and, you know, trying out superhero costumes – what if bad kids starting doing this?”
Yet fans’ favourite Hit Girl – played by Chloe Moretz – is not certain to return, with Millar adding he has plans for the character, but he is “not sure when that’ll be, it might not even be the second one. In my head, I’ve got some ideas how it could go”.
It is unclear if stars such as Aaron Johnson, Nicolas Cage and Chloe Moretz will return for the sequel.
