Kim Cattrall slams ‘cruel’ former co-star Sarah Jessica Parker for reaching out after brother’s death

Meanwhile she has thanked Sex and the City co-star Cynthia Nixon for her sympathies

This weekend (February 10) Kim Cattrall criticised her former Sex And The City co-star, Sarah Jessica Parker, for reaching out following the death of her brother, Chris Cattrall. Now, she has publicly thanked another of her SATC co-stars, Cynthia Nixon, for her sympathies.

On Friday, Parker spoke to Extra TV to confirm she had sent Cattrall her “love and condolences” after Chris Cattrall’s death. On Saturday, Cattrall took to Instagram to brand Sarah Jessica Parker “cruel” for reaching out to her.

“My Mom asked me today: ‘When will that @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite, leave you alone?’,” she wrote in the below Instagram post, continuing, “Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now. Let me make this very clear (if I haven’t already). You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona.” Underneath this she linked to a New York Post story that detailed their falling out.

Now, in a new comment on the Instagram post in which she announced her brother’s death, Cattrall has thanked another of her Sex and the City co-stars, Cynthia Nixon, writing: “Cynthia, hearing your voice meant so much to me. Thank you for reaching out. Love Kim”. See the comment below:

The star has also thanked her Sex And The City fans for supporting her.

Chris Cattrall went missing from his home in Lacombe in the Canadian province of Alberta on January 30.

Posting a photo of the 55-year-old to social media, the actor said his “keys, cell phone, & wallet [were] left on the table and his front door unlocked”. She called her brother “one of a kind” and said: “This is not like Chris. He would never leave his unlocked home without those items nor his 7 beloved dogs.”

But earlier this week, Cattrall confirmed that her brother had passed away at the age of 55. She wrote: “It is with great sadness that myself and my family announce the unexpected passing of our son and brother, Chris Cattrall. At this time we ask for privacy but we want to thank you all on social media for your outpouring of love and support in this trying time.”

Rumours of a rift between Cattrall and Parker have circulated for years. In September, Cattrall stated she wouldn’t take part in Sex And The City 3 because her relationship with her co-stars was “toxic.”

Parker, who recently confirmed a third movie would not go ahead, has not publicly responded to Cattrall’s post.
