Laura Linney joins cast of Clint Eastwood’s ‘Sully’

Linney will star alongside Tom Hanks and Aaron Eckhardt.

Laura Linney is being lined up for a role in Clint Eastwood’s forthcoming film Sully.

According to Deadline reports, the actress – who previously worked with Eastwood on Absolute Power and Mystic River – is currently agreeing a deal to co-star in the film alongside Tom Hanks.

Based on the book Highest Duty: My Search For What Really Matters by Chesley ‘Sully’ Sullenberger and Jeffrey Zaslow, the film tells the story of Sullenberger (Hanks), who became a US national hero in 2009 after the commercial plane he was piloting began to malfunction shortly after takeoff and he was forced to take extreme measures to save the passengers.

Linney will play Sulley’s wife with Aaron Eckhardt cast in the role of the co-pilot. The screenplay has been penned by Todd Komarnicki (Perfect Stranger).
