Linkin Park’s Joe Hahn to appear as judge on Korean talent show

Hitting screens very soon...

Linkin Park‘s Joe Hahn will appear as a judge on a new reality talent show, seeking the next big thing in the world of Korean rock.

The group’s DJ member is set to feature on Super Band, which will premiere this Friday (April 19). It follows the success of similar Korean shows looking to discover K-pop bands and artists.

“I have always wanted to come perform here. When the call came in to participate in this show, I thought it was a perfect match with my background in music,” Hahn said of his TV venture at a press event.

“I love listening to [rock bands] waiting for each member to stand out, the combination becomes larger than life and that makes me want to go to concerts.”

Explaining how he had a “certain perception” of Korean music, Hahn said that “looking beneath the surface” made him realise “there is a lot of talent” within the rock genre.

Super Band airs this Friday on the JTBC network – check out Hahn discussing the show in the video above.

Meanwhile, an isolated vocal take from Linkin Park track ‘One More Light’ has recently been shared online. The song featured on the band’s latest album of the same name, which was released two months before singer Chester Bennington’s death.

Elsewhere, Mike Shinoda has discussed the possibility of recruiting a new Linkin Park vocalist.
