"My life is over. I don't give a shit," he reportedly told the crowd
Leaked footage of a Louis CK stand-up performance has been met with controversy, with the disgraced comedian taking aim at people who use gender-neutral pronouns and the Parkland school shooting survivors.
An article published by the New York Times last year shone light on claims of inappropriate behaviour from CK – including him allegedly masturbating in front of female comedians.
After responding by telling fans that “the stories were true”, CK returned to the stage in August. With the shows continuing in October, the comedian referenced his “weird year” and told the audience he had “lost $35 million in an hour” due to the scandal.
Now, footage has been unearthed from CK’s Comedy Cellar appearance in which he rants about the young people and survivors of US school shootings. You listen to the clip below.
“I’m a little disappointed in the younger generation, honestly, because I’m 51 years old, and when I was like, 18 to my twenties, we were idiots,” CK said. “We are out getting high, doing mushrooms and shit, and then older people were like ‘you’ve got to get your shit together’ and we were like, ‘fuck you’.
“They’re just boring [today’s young generation]. Telling you, ‘you shouldn’t say that’… what are you, an old lady? ‘That’s not appropriate’ – fuck you, you’re a child.”
Speaking of people’s decision to change their gender pronouns, CK continued: “They’re like royalty, they tell you what to call them. ‘You should address me as they/them because I identify as gender neutral.’ OK. You should address me as ‘there’ because I identify as a location, and the location is your mother’s c***.”
Louis CK added: “I don’t know. They testified in front of Congress, these kids. Like, what the fuck? What are you doing? You’re young. You should be going crazy. You should be unhinged, not in a suit saying: ‘I’m here to tell…’ fuck you.
Appearing to reference Parkland school shooting survivors, who became gun control activists, he said: “You’re not interesting ’cause you went to a high school where kids got shot. Why does that mean I have to listen to you? How does that make you interesting?
“You didn’t get shot. You pushed some fat kid in the way and now I got to listen to you talk?”
CK reportedly said to those who could be offended by the controversial comments: “What are you, going to take away my birthday? My life is over. I don’t give a shit.”
Metro report that footage of the full set has been taken down from YouTube, although a two-minute clip is doing the rounds on social media.
Upon his return to the stage in August, Louis CK also attracted controversy for including a rape joke in his set. Speaking to Vulture, one woman recalled how CK. began riffing about the phrase “clean as a whistle,” which eventually built up to a joke about how rape whistles are not clean.
