Here’s who would win in a battle between Luke Skywalker and Captain America – according to Mark Hamill and Chris Evans

Could Skywalker's lightsaber cut through Cap's shield?

Who would win a fight between Luke Skywalker and Captain America? That’s a question that was posed to Luke Hamill and Chris Evans on Twitter.

A fan wrote a message to the actors after their son asked ‘the toughest question’ – “Can a lightsaber cut through Captain America’s shield?”

The actors were quick to help the kid out, replying to the initial tweet. Hamill says that it could not cut through it if the fight broke out in the Marvel universe. In the Star Wars universe? “Luke wouldn’t fight a hero,” he wrote, “but if asked to do so, he could cut it into a million little pieces.”

Chris Evans wasn’t too happy with this answer, replying, “Foolish. Now I have vibranium ninja stars.” You can see all those tweets below.

Elsewhere in the Marvel Universe, the studio have confirmed that they already have an LGBTQ+ hero and that more are on their way.

Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige is keen for more representation in the movies. He acknowledged that there is at least one existing character within the MCU that identifies within the spectrum, while also confirming that there are developments for a new character that identifies as LGBTQ+.

“[We have] both ones you’ve seen and ones you haven’t seen,” he told The Playlist.

Advocacy group GLAAD previously called out the lack of LGBTQ+ representation in Marvel and DC movies after it was reported that Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi cut a frame of a woman leaving Valkyrie’s bedroom in the film’s final edit.
