Marilyn Manson’s ‘Alice In Wonderland’ film shut down due to trailer backlash?

Lewis Carroll biopic 'unlikely to be seen', claims studio source

Marilyn Manson‘s directorial debut has been put on hold after a negative response to the film’s violent trailer, according to reports.

Focusing on the life of the Alice in Wonderland author Lewis Carroll, Phantasmagoria: The Visions Of Lewis Carroll stars Oscar winning actress Tilda Swinton and model/actress Lily Cole.

However, is claiming that studio behind the project have shut it down following a backlash to the teaser trailer which was shown online.

A source told the newspaper: “The trailer caused such a backlash that a decision was made to close down the project. It’s unlikely it will ever see the light of day.”


The teaser promo, which features nudity and disturbing images, has caused the film to be put on “indefinite production hold”.
