Mel Gibson dumped by agents following outburst

Hollywood shuns shamed star

Oscar winning actor and director Mel Gibson has been dumped by his agency following tapes of his outburst against a former girlfriend being made public.

According to Deadline, WME Entertainment made the decision to part ways from Gibson on July 2, the day before the death of Gibson’s longtime agent Ed Limato on July 3.

Radar first reported that Gibson had told the mother of his eight-month old daughter Lucia, Oksana Grigorieva, “You’re an embarrassment to me. You look like a fucking bitch in heat, and if you get raped by a pack of n***ers, it will be your fault.”. They later posted a recording of the pair’s conversation, which confirmed the rumours.

Following the story breaking, WME board member Ari Emanuel reportedly sent an email to a colleague which said “we can’t represent a guy who said the N-word”.

Emanuel previously appealed to the Hollywood community to shun Gibson following his 2006 anti-semitic rant during an arrest. Posting on The Huffington Post at the time, he stated: “At a time of escalating tensions in the world, the entertainment industry cannot idly stand by and allow Mel Gibson to get away with such tragically inflammatory statements….people in the entertainment community, whether Jew or gentile, need to demonstrate that they understand how much is at stake in this by professionally shunning Mel Gibson and refusing to work with him, even if it means a sacrifice to their bottom line.”
