Actor says he is 'very optimistic' he will beat the condition
Michael Douglas is being treated for throat cancer.
The Oscar-winning star of Wall Street and Falling Down will need eight weeeks of radiation and chemotherapy, reports BBC News.
The actor, who has declared he is “very optimistic”, is expected to make a full recovery.
Douglas, the son of Hollywood legend Kirk Douglas, married fellow Oscar-winner Catherine Zeta Jones in 2000.
His other films include Traffic, Basic Instinct and the recent Wall Street sequel Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.
