Michael Fassbender linked with ‘Spider-Man’ and new ‘X-Men’ films

'Inglorious Basterds' man tipped for comic book roles

Michael Fassbender, star of Inglorious Basterds, could be set for roles in Spider-Man and X-Men.

He is reportedly in line to play Sir Ian McKellen‘s character Magneto in X-Men: First Class, which will chart the character’s early days.

Meanwhile James McAvoy will be playing Magneto‘s enemy Charles Xavier – played by Patrick Stewart in the earlier films.

Rumours have also linked Fassbender with the next Spider-Man film, with the actor apparently being considered to play bad guy Electro, while Billy Elliot star Jamie Bell is said to be replacing Toby Maguire as the hero.

Sky Movie News suggests that Fassbender will now have to make a decision between the two roles – as the filming schedules will clash.
