Charli XCX reveals the advice she received from Robyn

Pop singer tells NME about the best wisdom she's ever been given.

Charli XCX has opened up about the advice she received from Robyn on how best to succeed in life and music.

The ‘Break The Rules’ and ‘Boom Clap’ singer was speaking to NME in this week’s Inspiration Issue about the best wisdom she’d ever been given.

“Robyn once told me to always be ME, not worry about what other people think, and fuck everyone if they don’t like it,” she told NME. “To hear that from someone who I admired was so cool and comforting. Just do what makes you feel good and hang out with people you love and feel happy with.”

She added: “I feel that equals good life vibes.”

This week, Charli XCX unveiled her new single ‘After The Afterparty’ from her upcoming third album. The album, whose title has yet to be announced, is expected to be released in the early part of 2017.

Earlier this year, she described her next record as “the most pop thing I’ve done”.

“I’m going to be putting a record out soon and it’s going to be the most pop thing I’ve done,” she said. “I’m just finishing it but I can’t say anything yet. I’ve been in LA chilling and it’s great to be back in London.”
