Kanye West is reportedly “doing much better” after being hospitalised earlier this week.

The rapper is said to have been taken to hospital “for his own health and safety” on Monday (November 21) after suffering from “severe sleep deprivation”.

Now Entertainment Tonight reports that a source close to the rapper and wife Kim Kardashian has given an update on his condition.

“He just needed some rest,” the unnamed source is quoted as saying: “[Kim] is currently with Kanye right now at his side. Kim feels more connected to Kanye than ever. Their marriage is doing great.”

Entertainment Tonight previously reported that West was taken to hospital after what their source called a “mental breakdown”. The US showbiz outlet also quoted the source as saying: “It was a combination of a lot of issues: stress, anxiety, paranoia. He just broke. There have been signs recently of him just overwhelmed. Kanye hasn’t been himself for a while.”

Today (November 23), producer Swizz Beatz has expressed concern for West following news of his hospitalisation.

He joins Pusha TJohn Legend and Chance The Rapper in sending his best wishes to West. Legend said he was “concerned” about the ‘Life of Pablo’ artist, while Chance sent “a very special prayer to my big brother, Kanye West”. Pusha T thanked West for the “endless opportunities you have brought to me”.

Earlier this week, West cancelled the remainder of his ‘Saint Pablo’ tour after a concert in Sacramento where he controversially cut his set short after just 30 minutes following a rant about Beyoncé.

During the rant, he claimed that her husband and West’s former friend and collaborator Jay Z has the means to have him killed. He also recently caused controversy when he admitted that he “would have voted for Donald Trump”.
