The US rapper gets into the giving spirit this festive season
2 Chainz is reaching out to the community this Christmas and doing good deeds with money raised through his TRU Foundation charity.
Today the American rapper surprised one single mother, Dierdre Plater, who is a former veteran and now disabled, by paying a trip to her home with his kids (Harmony, Heaven and Halo) and announcing that he’d be buying her furniture and paying her rent for a year.
Plater told American news channel CBS46 that “it’s hard to keep gas in the car, food in the house, and do everything by myself being a single parent. I am on a fixed income. I love to see stuff like this happen for other people, but I never thought it would happen to me.”
Watch the moment 2 Chainz surprised Plater in her home with his charitable offer:
TRU Foundation, a non-profit organisation, helps those in need in southern Atlanta, Georgia – where 2 Chainz is from – and the surrounding areas. The money that will pay Plater’s rent has come from the sales of 2 Chainz’s ‘Ugly Christmas Sweaters’.
The jumpers, which start at $39.99 (£26.48), feature marijuana leaves, two chains (of course) and Santa and Mrs Clause doing the dab dance. Other items on offer with the same prints include baby-grows, mugs and t-shirts and can be found at the 2 Chainz Shop.
