2:54 announce new album ‘The Other I’

The duo are also streaming new song 'In The Mirror'

2:54 have announced the release of their new album, ‘The Other I’.

The duo, made up of sisters Colette and Hannah Thurlow, will put out their second LP on November 10, via the Bella Union label. It follows their debut album ‘2:54’, which was released in 2012. Scroll down to listen to ‘In The Mirror’, which is taken from the forthcoming record.

Speaking about the title of the album, Colette says it was inspired by the poet Percy Shelley. “He called his friend and muse Elizabeth Hitchener the ‘sister of my soul, my second self’. These lines kept returning to me last year and from there I arrived at ‘The Other I’. The Other I is an enquiry into the duality of the human experience – the division between the self that pounds on like a juggernaut in your head, and the self you present to the world. The idea extends to Hannah and I, to our sisterhood. We know intrinsically what the other thinks and feels, music is just another language we use to communicate.”

2:54 will tour the UK this November, as well as playing a one-off show at London’s Union Chapel on September 8. Scroll down for full tour dates as well as the tracklisting for ‘The Other I’.
