50 CENT is back on top of the US BILLBOARD ALBUM CHART – while last week’s Number One star MADONNA has plummeted down to Eight.

‘Get Rich Or Die Tryin’, 50 Cent’s debut album, reclaimed top spot with sales of 128,000. He has now topped the charts for six weeks at different times this year.

Madonna‘s new LP ‘American Life’ sold 91,000 top drop down to Eight after just one week at the summit. The record dropped from its top spot in the UK earlier this week to Three after a similarly short stay.

50 Cent’s closest rival was the ‘American Idol Season 2: All Time Classic Love Songs’ compilation, which sold 101,000 to debut at Number Two. ‘American Idol’ winner Kelly Clarkson remains at Three with her album ‘Thankful’, which sold 99,000 last week.
