50 CENT GETTING RICH!

His debut LP vies with Justin Timberlake for the top slot - and he's still doing rather well in the States...

50 CENT is set to spend a second week at the top of the US BILLBOARD chart, while his debut album ‘GET RICH OR DIE TRYIN” is vying with JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE for the top spot in the UK album charts after its release on Monday (February 17).

The rapper’s album has now sold over a million and a half copies in the States, having shifted 872,000 copies in its first week, and a further 822,000 in its second week. The phenomenal sales, which have made it the fastest-selling debut album in US chart history, come despite fears over bootlegging and illegal downloading, which led to its release being brought forward.

In the UK midweek charts, 50 Cent looked set to go straight to Number One. But he faces stiff competition from pop heart-throb Justin Timberlake, who performed at the Brit Awards with Kylie last night (February 20).
