50 Cent to pen anti-bullying novel

Rapper will release the semi-autobiographical 'Playground' next year

50 Cent has revealed that he is writing a novel about school bullying.

The ‘In The Club’ rapper will release the semi-autobiographical book Playground next year, which tells the story of a 13-year-old tormentor who is forced to face up to his actions. He will write the novel in the first person, and it will be released in January 2012 by Razorbill, according to Rolling Stone.

50 Cent said: “I had a strong desire to write Playground because I wanted to explore how a kid becomes a bully. I drew on events from my own childhood and adolescence, but was excited to see the story take on its own life. This book would have been very helpful for me growing up and now that I have a teenage son, it is my goal that this will have a positive influence on all teenagers.”

This will be his third book, following his 2005 autobiography From Pieces To Weight, and 2008’s The 50th Law. Last week he debuted new track ‘Outlaw’, from forthcoming album ‘Black Magic’.
