The dance stars will be joined by Midfield General and Alfie at d.percussion...
Kicking-off around midday and running for 20 hours, they will be joined by almost 130 other acts on a site in the Castlefield area of the city. 55,000 people are expected to attend.
There is also a novel aftershow party planned for late Saturday. Revellers not content with watching those in one of the five main arenas will be able to carry on in one of Britain‘s best known pub’s – Coronation Street’s Rovers Return. The gates to Granada Studios will be opened at 10pm for those who wish to take advantage and pay the #10 admission.
It is the first time anything free has been attempted on this scale in Manchester and many local labels, such as Twisted Nerve and Grand Central are well represented on the bill.
Afrika Bambaataa, Doves, 808 State and Badly Drawn Boy have played at d.percussion‘s precursor, The Water’s Edge Festival.
