Police have arrested a fourth suspect in connection with the death of rapper XXXTentacion earlier this year.
Trayvon Newsome, 20, was arrested shortly before 5 p.m on Tuesday, according to a statement posted by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office on Twitter.
Newsome surrendered to police at his lawyer’s office in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and faces charges of first-degree murder and robbery with a deadly weapon.
He is the last of four suspects to be taken into custody, after the previous arrests of Michael Boatwright, Robert Allen and Dedrick Williams.
XXXTentacion, real name Jahseh Onfroy, was shot dead as he left a motorcycle dealership in June.
According to authorities, his car was being locked by another vehicle when two masked gunmen approached his car, before shooting him and fleeing with a Louis Vuitton bag filled with $50,000.
His manager confirmed at the time: “On June 18, 2018, Jahseh Onfroy—known worldwide as XXXTentacion—tragically passed away from a gunshot wound in Deerfield, Florida.
“In deference of his family , friends and loved ones and in light of further investigation, we ask that their privacy is respected at this time.
“XXXTentacion touched the lives of millions around the globe and will forever reside in the hearts of countless fans who listened to his music, attended his concerts, and felt the glow of his uncontainable, undeniable, and unique spirit.”
